Jesús Bores Lazo

Jesús Bores Lazo is an attorney and consultant with broad  experience representing his clients in matters and transactions both domestically and internationally.  He is a partner in Bores y Cia Abogados, a law firm established in 1971, and he is a founding member and partner in the consulting firm BCP & Asociados Euroconsultores.

He brings to Potomac Global Advisors his valuable international and European experience in providing legal and consulting advice to clients on domestic and cross-border matters and transactions. In the course of his career, Jesús has worked on projects or for clients in such countries as Belgium,  Argentina, Ecuador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Philippines, Uruguay and others.

Mr. Bores worked for the European Commission at the beginning of the establishment of the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice and then as a member of the Task Force for Justice and Home Affairs.  He has applied his expertise in this area globally through his practice and through his many teaching activities. 

Jesús Bores works on a permanent basis with several universities and legal training centers, including within the Spanish Ministry of Justice and Foreign Affairs where he teaches practical issues in the fields of democracy, rule of law, access to justice, etc.  He also teaches at the University of Seville, the Europaische Rechts Academie, the Institute Cajasol, various Bar associations and others in such areas as judicial reform, good governance, trade law, access to justice, etc.

Jesús earned his Bachelors Degree in Political Science and International Relations from Spain's National Open University, his law degree from the University of Seville, a LLM in European and Comparative Law from Rijksuniversiteit Limburg-Maastricht in the Netherlands, and PhD courses on International Law at the University of Seville.
